Welcome to Friends of Residents in Long Term Care

Friends of Residents in Long Term Care is a nonprofit charitable organization committed to advancing quality of life in North Carolina’s long-term care facilities.  We advocate for changes in public policy, support families of long-term care residents, and help build public awareness in North Carolina about issues facing long-term care residents and their families.

Our Mission: to advance the quality of life for the 90,000+ frail elderly and disabled people in residential care in North Carolina

We Achieve This Mission By:

  1. Influencing public policy through an annual legislative agenda, monitoring study commissions and legislative committees, communicating with key legislative contacts, acting in coalition with other aging interests, and representing Friends’ policy interests with executive agencies.
  2. Being an independent resource for residents and families and providing information and assistance to those seeking help with an unresolved long-term care issue; and
  3. Building public awareness in North Carolina about long-term care issues through our education and information dissemination efforts. Sign up to receive our newsletters and email updates.
